Following the success of last year's event, I am delighted to be hosting my Irish Charity Golf Classic at the magnificent Portmarnock Golf Club on Monday, 8th June 2009. As a member of Portmarnock myself, I couldn’t think of a better venue to host the Irish leg of my Charity Golf Series.
Portmarnock is universally acknowledged as one of the truly great links courses. Its quality and location close to Dublin have made it a fantastic venue for some of the game's great events, from the British Amateur Championship to the Walker Cup to the Irish Open.
The event will once again enable teams to play golf with, and enjoy the company of, stars from the worlds of sport and entertainment. Stars who played in last year’s event include: Philip Walton, DJ Carey, Jason Leonard, Allan Lamb, Kevin Moran, Gladstone Small, Ray Houghton, Paddy Power to name but a few.
